Insurance Plans
College of Medicine Clinical Faculty Members who are at least employed at a 0.5 FTE (Full-Time Equivalency) level will be eligible for both health and life insurance as a part of the Academic Enrichment Fund (AEF) benefit program. For faculty who are employed at the 0.75 FTE and higher level will be eligible for a long-term disability policy in addition to the health and life insurance. The health, life and long-term disability policies all begin on the date of hire. - Faculty may elect for family coverage to cover a spouse or domestic partner, as well as children (including natural-born, foster and adopted children)
- Life Insurance is provided through ING (www.med.ufl.edu/benefits/FacultyGTL.pdf)
- $500,000 of term insurance (if 0.75FTE or higher)
- $100,000 of term insurance (if 0.50FTE – 0.74FTE)
- Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance is provided through ING (www.med.ufl.edu/benefits/FacultyGTL.pdf)
- $150,000 of AD&D insurance (if 0.75FTE or higher)
- $50,000 of AD&D insurance (if 0.50FTE – 0.74FTE)
- Long-Term Disability Insurance is provided through ING (www.med.ufl.edu/benefits/FacultyLTD.pdf)
- Covers 60% of monthly salary (up to $15,000 max monthly benefit), tax-free, when faculty are not working for 6 months or longer
- Can be stacked on top of private disability insurance policies
