2 Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars The ADTS is self-governing and recommends new members, with the final approval of the Provost. Recipients are inducted for lifetime as Academy members and serve on an advisory board to the Associate Provost for Academic and Faculty Affairs for three years. http://fora.aa.ufl.edu/go/70 January, annually. Faculty members inducted into the Academy receive $3,000 per year (total of $9,000 over 3 years) to be used for the purchase of equipment, travel to conferences or for professional development, books, graduate students, and other related expenses. It may not be used as faculty salary.
3    UF Research Foundation Professorships   UF Research Foundation   Amanda Cluxton, amandacluxton@ufl.edu   Awarded to tenured faculty members who have a distinguished current record of research. The purpose of these awards is to recognize recent contributions and to provide incentives for continued excellence in research.  https://research.ufl.edu/ufrf/professorship.html   Nominations are invited in January, for submission in March.   May   Candidates must be nominated by their Department Chairs. Department Chairs are nominated by their College Deans. Deans (all levels) are not eligible. Each dean will be notified of the total number of awards available, which is proportional to the number of tenured faculty eligible for the award (as established in the first year of the initial three-year cycle, which began in 1996-1997).

9   Lifetime Achievement Award   Faculty Council   Judith Lightsey, MD represents RadOnc Summer 2015 – Spring 2018   at UF at least 10 years, most over 20, extraordinary service  http://facultycouncil.med.ufl.edu/faculty-information/lifetime-achievement-award/   2/26/2016   April   COM Research Week Dinner   This award, from the UF College of Medicine faculty, recognizes outstanding peers (current or retired) for providing extraordinary service to the UF College of Medicine and their respective professions.  This award is aimed at faculty who have been at UF for at least 10 years; most of the previous awardees have devoted over 20 years to the UF College of Medicine.  Nominations will be requested early in the calendar year, and can subsequently be submitted to the Faculty Council for consideration in the form of a letter detailing the nominee’s contributions.
10   UF Foundation Term Professorships Program   Office of the Provost   Ileana McCray mccrayi@ufl.edu   In support of the university’s preeminence goals and to support faculty research efforts, the University of Florida Foundation has announced the creation of the University of Florida Foundation Term Professorships Program.  http://www.aa.ufl.edu/Data/Sites/18/media/documents/uff-term-professorship.pdf   Usually June   Usually in September   Foundation Board Meeting Eligible faculty may be untenured, tenured or non‐tenure‐track, but must have a substantial research assignment and an outstanding record of research accomplishments. Faculty may receive the award once during the lifetime of the program. The dean of each college is invited to submit one nomination to a committee of faculty that will recommend the two finalists for the awards each year. The committee will be chaired by Associate Provost Angel Kwolek‐Folland.

Each year, awards are granted at the college and university level.  http://www.aa.ufl.edu/toty   Call for applications in Fall; application deadline is usually in January or February, annually. Provost’s Office provides award funding to the colleges offering undergraduate instruction; each college determines the number and amount for college awards. (College funds may be used for additional college-level awards at the dean’s discretion.) Additionally, three $4,000 awards are granted at the university level, selected from the college-level awardees.
