Searching and Evaluating the Medical Literature

5-15-iconThis seminar will provide introductory skills and tools to enable participants to more effectively and efficiently engage in searching and evaluating literature related to topics in medical education. Class objectives:

Participants will learn multiple methods for access literature from off campus.

Participants will be introduced to criteria for selecting appropriate databases for their literature searches based upon their perceived needs.

Participants will be introduced to methods for constructing comprehensive search strategies based upon their perceived needs.

Participants will be introduced to criteria for evaluating the quality of a medical education article.

This seminar will also be video-conferenced to the Jacksonville Deal Board Room and the Aetna Conference Room.
