The Hidden Curriculum: Behavioral Learning

12-18-iconThe hidden curriculum refers to cultural mores that are transmitted, but not openly acknowledged, through formal and informal educational endeavors. It is a powerful force that can shape learners in positive as well as negative ways.  The goal of the session is to help faculty understand the phenomenon of the hidden curriculum and appreciate the extent of its impact.  The session will explore examples from our own medical school and encourage participants to reflect on ways the hidden curriculum influences their lives as well as their learners.
