Constructing a Meaningful Narrative Assessment

This seminar will briefly review the principles of effective feedback. The language of RIME (UME) and milestones (GME) will be introduced to improve the vocabulary of feedback. Participants will have the opportunity to review de-identified narrative assessments and use them to create a summative narrative assessment applying the principles discussed.

The objectives of this workshop are as follows:

• Apply principles of effective feedback to narrative assessments

• Introduce RIME framework and apply it to narrative assessments for UME

• Explore ways to incorporate the language of milestones into narrative assessments for GME
