When to Call the Lawyers – December 2, 2015

braunChallenges to probation or dismissal? Allegations of discrimination? Threat of a lawsuit? Calling a lawyer is one of your first thoughts in these events. Legal advice can, however, be helpful long before a situation devolves to the point of a legal dispute. This presentation will provide an overview of the top legal issues that program directors face.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Recognize the role of legal counsel in assisting program directors and departments.
  2. Identify situations in which a lawyer should be involved.
  3. Collect the information legal counsel will need to be able to assist you.
