The Faculty as Teachers (FasT) program provides an introduction to key educational elements. The first step is learning how to write effective learning objectives – participants are given tools to practice writing learning objectives across the domains of knowledge, skills and attitudes. The next step is, based on their learning objectives, helping participants make decisions about the most effective learning approaches to use. Participants learn about and discuss foundational theory and personal beliefs about teaching and learning. Finally, participants are introduced to concepts related to assessment of student learning and program evaluation. Extensive resources are provided to participants that they use during class and take with them for future reference.
